As you may be aware, from 19 July it will no longer be mandatory for people to wear masks in shops in England, while the government has said it “expects and recommends that people continue to wear a face covering in crowded, enclosed spaces”.
We are mindful that covid continues to be a concern, and there are both staff and clients who may continue to be at risk, either directly or themselves. We are also aware how difficult it has been for the last 12 months for staff to continue wearing PPE including face masks and visors throughout the day, especially in warmer weather, while maintaining strict hygiene procedures.
Effective from 19th July, our policy on masks is as follows:
Whilst we strongly recommend all staff and students to continue wearing masks while inside the academy, salon and barbers, this will be optional and at the discretion of every individual, however we will expect everyone continues taking all possible precautions including using the use of sanitisers, washing hands regularly and maintaining distancing where possible. We will continue with strict cleaning and hygiene procedures, and as well as taking temperatures and offering the hand sanitisers we will be asking clients on arrival if they wish for their stylist/barber to wear a mask (if they will do so themselves) and we have asked everyone here to respect all our customers’ wishes. NHS check-in signs remain visible at the entrance.
We also ask that clients needing to cancel their appointment due to having to isolate please send verification of this by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or WhatsApp 07756263314 to avoid late cancellation charges.
There are many changes in place to help minimise the spread of Covid-19, including current government guidelines that we must adhere to.
Bookings must be made online where possible.
Walk-in services are only available for trainee services only.
Please arrive prompt at your allocated time, and please arrive on your own. As timings are very limited, if you are 10 mins late we may have to cancel your appointment and there will be a small cancellation charge.
WASH HAIR & NO PRODUCTS
Your hair must be recently-washed, with no hair products in.
MASKS MUST BE WORN
Please use your own face mask if possible, as we have only limited supplies
PRICES AND SERVICES
Some services are temporarily unavailable, and to reflect increased costs (PPE, longer service times etc), we have adjusted our prices accordingly.
HYGIENE & PPE
All staff will be wearing PPE, clean gowns will be used for each client and stations will be cleaned thoroughly after each client.

If you or anyone in your household or work environment has had symptoms at any time, please cancel your appointment and self-isolate at home in accordance with published NHS advice. Booking an appointment constitutes understanding and acceptance of the above.

The Barbers Leeds is part of Leeds Academy For Hairdressing And Barbering (LAFHAB), which provides high quality NVQ training for hairdressers and barbers. Training takes place upstairs, where students undertake theoretical training, and they are taught the various techniques for cutting hair, they then master and perfect this all using training heads.
When the students have reached a good standard and have gained confidence, they then progress downstairs to perform services on ‘real’ clients. Services are then undertaken here at The Barbers Leeds, under supervision of Tutors and with qualified Barbers present.
This process ensures that only the students that are ready for clients will be providing services in the barbers, so you will receive a good quality service. Services by students cost much less, involve assessments with Tutors and may naturally take a little longer. But we encourage all customers to support our students where possible, this is helping the academy to train the barbers of tomorrow.
In light of the significant increase in operating costs, we have implemented a Fair Policy, where reasonable fees apply in certain circumstances.
As part of the booking process, all clients will be required to provide payment details, nothing is charged at the time of booking, however fees may be charged as follows:
• Cancellation less than 48 hours before appointment:
30% of the booked service price
• No show (Client does not arrive (within 10 mins of the appointment time) and did not cancel):
50% of the booked service price.
We are asking all Customers to use our online booking service (Fresha) to manage their appointments, from here you can easily view, amend and cancel upcoming appointments 24/7.
This is easier than trying to phone/email us.
